Overview

Program Information:
Skaters will begin with basic roller-skating skills. As skaters progress throughout the levels, they learn skills with increased difficulty (spins, jumps, etc.). Classes are held on Saturdays. At the end of April, the program hosts a showcase of skills. This involves choreographed routines and costumes.

Who Can Participate:
-Open to boys and girls ages 5+.
-Tiny tots (below age 5) will be offered as a shortened session.
-No beginner adult classes offered– adult alumni of the program only.
-Classes are based on skill level (not age) and determined on the first day of our session.
-All NEW skaters will register for Beginner 1 and move up after the 1st day if warranted. If your child is uncomfortable with their assigned class, we will reimburse you all money at the 2nd week.

Cost:
-Registration cost is $120 per skater for the entire year. ($60 for Tiny Tots)
-There will also be a costume fee due in October, not included in the registration price.
-Registration can be completed through Stone Alley.
-Skaters may not attend class until registration is paid in full.
Skaters must wear approved roller skates. Guidelines and links to purchase specific skates will be provided following registration.

First Time Skaters:
-Classes are based on skill level (not age) and determined on the first day of our session.

-If your child is uncomfortable with their assigned class, we will reimburse you all money at the 2nd week class.
-Specific roller skates are required.

Tiny Tots:

-The Tiny Tot session is on Saturdays from Sept 9- Dec 16 from 9:15- 9:45 am.
-Classes are 30 minutes in length.
-Registration is $60.
-No end of year show.
-No costumes. No Additional Fees.

Required Skates:
-For the safety of your skater, it is important that they have the correct type of skates for lessons
No inline skates.  No light-up wheels. Only traditional 4 wheeled skates
List of acceptable skates will be provided following registration.

Costume Info:
-At the end of April, the program hosts a showcase of skills. This involves choreographed routines and costumes.
Costume fees are due by October 28, 2023.
-If you do not wish for your skater to participate in the show, let us know as soon as possible.
-Once costumes are ordered, you are responsible for the cost.

Costume Fees:
-Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate 1, and Intermediate 2
: $65
Advanced 1 and 2: $75
Specialist 1 and 2, Advanced Specialist, and Alumni: Girls- $150, Boys- $100

Additional Fees: (to purchase in March from program coordinator)
-Boot Covers: $15 (if the skater does not already have a pair) 1st year skater boot covers are FREE.
-Tights: $12 (child size); $15 (adult size)

Free to You:
-All skaters will receive a medal/pin at the end of the session based on years completed.
-All skaters will receive a T-shirt. Please note the size during registration. (Youth-Adult sizes)

-End of the year party at Skateland in May will be free for all skaters and their families.

Show Details: 
Attendance at Dress Rehearsal and ALL Shows is REQUIRED.

-Dress Rehearsal:

               Saturday, April 20 from 5:00-9:00 pm.
-Show Times:
               Friday, April 26 show is at 7:00 pm
               Saturday, April 27 shows are at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm
               Sunday, April 28 show is at 2:00 pm

Refund Policy:
-Refunds are subject to a $10.00 administrative fee.
-No refunds will be issued after the 2nd week of the session.
-No refunds for cancellations due to weather.

Attendance Policy:
-From September to December, your child may miss no more than 4 practices and no more than 2 consecutive classes.
-The process will restart in January and your child can miss no more than 3 practices and no more than two consecutive classes between January and show weekend.
-Absences due to illness are excused for the health and safety of the other skaters.
-In registering your child, you do agree to our attendance policy.

Skating Shows:
In registering your child you agree to bring them to all four skating shows! Last year we had a bit of an issue with skaters missing shows. It is unfair to the other children in your child’s group to have people missing from their routine.
-Your child also must attend dress rehearsal the Saturday before show weekend.  Rehearsal and all show dates are provided.

Closing/Cancellations:
-The program is cancelled/delayed based on communication from the Baltimore County Recreation and Parks.
-Communication will be made directly to the parents regarding such delays/closures.

Program Size:

-We reserve the right at any time to close registration based on numbers received. Register early to guarantee your spot.
