Martial Arts

The Martial Arts Program of the White Marsh Recreation Council is provided by Traditional TKD Academy, LLC. Since January 1992, classes have been held on a year round basis. The school is accredited by the International Chin Mu Kwan Tae Kwon Do Federation. Five distinctly different activities are offered:

Traditional Tae Kwon Do: for teens and adults: Traditional training in the Korean empty hand art by a Master Instructor.

Tae Kwon Do for Juniors: For older children beginning at age 10. Training more intense than the Children’s program but not yet at the adult/teen level.

Tae Kwon Do for children: The traditional curriculum has been broken down into age appropriate portions and enriched with real-life skills such as anger management, goal setting and how to give a polite greeting.

Young Dragons: Specially designed for the pre-schooler aged 5 – 6. This program focuses on developing basic educational skills such as concentration, memorization, and “group manners” as the children learn basic martial arts techniques in a short, fun-filled class. Meeting schedule depends on age.

Easy Defense: is a self-defense program based on adrenal stress conditioning. Available in three formats for adults, teens and children and in three levels: basics, ground and weapons, and multiple assailants.
